Real Lanzhou Experience!

Tonight our guide, Steed, took us to a local Lanzhou restaurant. Instead of having one big open dining area, there were private rooms where each party could eat. A separate area was for those who wanted to drink to their hearts' content and play games (very loudly I might add!). We had 4 waitresses for our private room and they were all very professional. Steed told us that here in China even the waitresses go to special school to learn their trade. Before we started the meal, we all made a toast to Abby (with Pepsi, of course). We ate spicy stretched Lanzhou noodles, pumpkin fried pie, fresh papaya, lamb, raw garlic (hey, Nano!), and leeche with black rice, dumpling wraps with bell pepper, onion and eggplant. It was a wonderful celebration and a definite taste of Abby's province. Thank you, Steed, for such a sweet gesture.
